The following cases exhibit only some works we are doing.
This girl is 17 years of age. She was incapacitated since the age of 2 due to a fever. However she was raped and pregnant by a local policeman in the remote area in Ben Tre city, Vietnam. The local authority intended to cover up the story and pressured her family and her to abort the baby. We with the cooperation of United Nations Office in Vietnam were able to bring this girl to the Women Hospital in Saigon city for treatment. She delivered a healthy boy. This is only one of many cases we have done for local poor people in Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangladesh since 1980. Not all vulnerable cases resulted in successful outcomes, unfortunately.
